Privacy Policy

Last updated November 8, 2026

ShutterMaster is a training app for manual photography. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

  • Account details — your name and email address, provided when you create an account or sign in with Google.
  • Practice data — lessons completed, XP, streaks, exam attempts and the camera settings (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) you submit in the simulator.
  • Photos you upload — images you submit for AI critique, together with the critique text generated for them.
  • Subscription status — plan tier and billing status. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card number.
  • Device storage — small amounts of local storage on your device, such as your theme preference, sign-in session and in-app progress flags.

2. How we use your information

  • To run the simulator, track your progress and unlock lessons.
  • To generate AI feedback on the photos you choose to submit.
  • To manage your subscription and keep your access to paid features accurate.
  • To keep the service secure and to diagnose problems.

3. AI photo critique

When you submit a photo for critique, the image is sent to third-party AI providers solely to generate your feedback. We do not use your photos for advertising. Only submit images you have the right to share, and avoid uploading images of other people or sensitive personal information.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data with service providers who help us operate the app: Stripe (payments), our hosting and database provider, and the AI providers that generate critiques. We may also disclose information if required by law.

5. Retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and the practice data linked to it from the Profile page at any time. Some billing records may be retained where required for tax or accounting purposes.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or by contacting us.

7. Children

ShutterMaster is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the date at the top of this page.
